Out of System is excited to return to Hawaii where their volleyball careers began at the University of Hawaii, and partner with 7Gen, to bring you Hawaii’s 3rd Annual Largest Grass Volleyball Tournament!  We are very blessed to host this event at Kailua District Park again and look forward bringing the community together for an amazing day of competition, music and food that embodies the spirit of Ohana.

Parking will be available at Kailua Intermediate School; Cost is $10 per vehicle with 100% of the Parking fee benefiting Kailua Intermediate School. Please do not Park in the neighboring streets.

Waivers:

Each participant must complete the online waiver prior to check in.

Schedule:  Sunday, July 21, 2024

7:00am - 7:30am Teams Check-in

  • Each player/ coach must complete the waiver sent via email
  • All player additions,Name Changes, Team Changes should be done prior to check-in. Any Changes at check-in will be charged $25
  • Only Team Captain must Check-In

7:45am - Tournament Introduction

8:00am - Pool Play Begins. Single elimination Playoffs to follow.

*City & County Park Rules:

No Alcohol

No Dogs

No Smoking

No Open Fires

No Parking on the grass Parking in Marked Stalls only.

No Staking of Tents, Sand bags and weights are permitted

*Failure to adhere to Park Rules will be cause for team disqualification

Tournament Rules:

Roster: Players that start a game, must finish that game unless they are injured.

If a player leaves due to injury, he/she is finished for that match.

Scoring: All games will be played using rally scoring

Tips: No open hand tips.

Double Contact: Players may double contact any first ball over (including serves) provided the ball is not held.

Let Serves: Let Serves are legal.

Blocking: A block is not counted as a team hit.

Foot Digs: Foot Digs are legal.

Setting Over: When the ball is set into the opponents court, the setters shoulders must be "Squared Up" or Perpendicular to the line of flight of the ball.

Time Outs: Each team is allowed two 30 second timeouts per game. Time out may be called prior to server receiving ball on either side of court between plays.

Side Changes: Teams should switch sides of the court after every 7 points in games to 21 or more, and every 5 points for games to 15.

Footwear: Players may not wear cleats or spikes of any kind. Players may play barefoot.

Forfeit Rule: A 10 minute forfeit rule is in effect.

Playoffs - Best of 3 , the first two games will be to 21 (no cap) and the third to 15 (no cap).

Center Line: No Full foot Crossing of the center line.

The Hosts:

Out of System is made of Kaneohe native Micah Ma’a, and the Worsley brothers, Joe and Gage, alumni of the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Out of System started as a fun volleyball podcast while they were playing in college and has grown into a volleyball media content company, expanding from social media to podcasts to even hosting events such as the Luau!
